For the second year in a row, country music is a strong contender at the Academy Awards. The Oscar nominees were announced Tuesday morning (January 25), with ‘Coming Home’ from the film ‘Country Strong’ receiving a nod in the Best Original Song category. The tune is performed by the film’s star, previous Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow, who describes it as “emotional to sing,” calling it her favorite song included in the film.

The tune, penned by Bob DiPiero, Tom Douglas, Troy Verges and Hillary Lindsey, will compete against songs from ‘Tangled,’ and Best Picture nominees ’127 Hours’ and ‘Toy Story 3.’

Check out a day in the life of Gwyneth Paltrow from her blog, GOOP!

Juliet de Baubigny’s day on September 16th, 2010:

Busy, fun, fulfilled, happy and often manic!
As a full-time working mother, wife, mother to two children (ages 6 and 3 1/2) and, as my husband will tell you, someone who likes to “do it all,” every day is a constant juggle and quest to create more time. I am a Partner at Kleiner Perkins, Caufield & Byers, a venture capital firm based in Menlo Park, California. I balance this with my work as a board member of Product (RED), the organization started by Bono and Bobby Shriver to help fight HIV/AIDs in women and children in sub-Saharan Africa. I’m also on the board of Trustees of the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco and actively involved in the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, California. Needless to say, I lead a busy life. Here are some things that have worked for me, which I wanted to share, in the hope that they may be helpful.

Gwyneth Paltrow Title Track Single Climbing the Sales and Airplay Charts as Soundtrack Excitement Follows Nationwide Opening of the Feature Film.

Nashville, TN – RCA Nashville’s release of the original motion picture soundtrack to Country Strong vaults up the album sales charts this week, landing at #3 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and #10 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
